•2012 - style guides were done in Indesign and prototypes in Asure
Next-Generation Social Studies was the first digital-first program for HMH. As a Lead digital manager, I started the beginning of HMH’s design design system.
•2014- Design system has matured - we could use javascript to do interactive graphs.
•2016- Style guides are now done in sketch- communicating via Zeplin to our development teams. We have a set Digital Design System with guidelines on css updates
•2019- Our branding with our different programs has become stagnant with the simple base.
Solutions:
- CSS animations added a “wow” factor
-Thought out responsive behavior with no surprise
-Color themes made unique look easy on production

Design Thinking is a design methodology that provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. The five stages of Design Thinking are as follows: Empathise, Define (the problem), Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
